I find it trashy when it is displayed as a bumper sticker or hanging in front of a double wide. However I have no problem with it being displayed at Southern historical monuments or in a state flag.

Its an historical artifact of a defeated rebellion that need not be flown by a state 150 years after the fact. Ultimately, it should be up to the state though.
