Former Baltimore Raven Ray Lewis posted a passionate 10-minute video to his Facebook page in which he questioned how the Black Lives Matter movement could ignore black-on-black crime. “I’m trying to figure out why no one is paying attention to black men killing black men,” Lewis said.

The video, which received about 43,000 likes and has been viewed more than three million times, was created to call attention to the recent surge of violence in Chicago. “Why do we always find ourselves half the victims,” the 40 year old said. “Why do we always find ourselves half the victims, and now we have the separation once again that we’re being victimized because of one bad white cop, two bad white cops, three bad white cops, killing a young black brother. But every day we have black-on-black crime, killing each other? Police in Chicago reported 677 shootings this year. Last year, it was 359. The March murder rate rose by 29 percent, but we’re not rioting in the streets [when] black on black killing each other,”

The mass media responds: "Sorry Ray, it's just not salacious enough." Maybe it's time everyone started paying attention. Yes, I'm mad.

No wonder the black community is behind the white community in America, they don't get the news until a week later than whites. That's just an unfair advantage for the whites IMO.

At least he's being honest.

Black people are ruining New Orleans for everybody else.
They've ruined the schools, the city government, the criminal defender's office, and countless other institutions.

They've created tension in lots of neighborhoods and are now having high profile members of the community showing another generation of black children in New Orleans the way to solve personal problems is through the use of gun violence.

It's despicable. Ray Lewis, while he's no angel, is at least calling some people out about the truth. It'd be nice to let him talk some sense into Mayor Landrieu for a few minutes.

Nahhh, come on net. While the black community is responsible for a lot of the crime and a good part of the corruption in politics that does NOTHING to help, there are plenty of white people in politics and positions of power that also do NOTHING. They have just as much blame.

Ill tell you why, Ray. Because BLM was only created to shame white people and white police officers. Black Lives Matters doesn't really give a shite about black lives

It's a community, so of course the blame is shared.

HOWEVER, we all have free will, and taking a life is a choice.

You can choose to rise above your circumstance.

Of course it is a choice. Every crime is ultimately a choice. So what makes a person not choose a life of crime? Hope and opportunity. So many of these kids have none of that so they turn to crime. No hope. None. They can look at their family, going back probably multiple generations, and see the same sad story. What else do they know? What positive influences do they have?

You saying they're doomed?
