can someone explain to me the rationale behind the roundabout going up on 190 between juban and denham? Traffic already backs up for miles past juban heading west. I guess I just don't understand the thinking of how these alleviate traffic.

You don't see how an intersection where stopping is minimized alleviates traffic compared to a signal controlled intersection?

Probably a good thing you aren't an engineer, in that case.

Is there supposed to be a nugget of wisdom in here? I've driven through LP plenty of times. I've also driven through roundabouts many times. They work once people figure out you don't have to stop to go in it.

Roundabouts are the way of the future for roads in the south.

They work pretty well but every time someone is approaching one when I'm taking it I feel like I'm about to get T boned. Some people drive those things like they are in Nascar.

Drive through Hammond, it's much better since they've put in the roundabouts

And the way to get people to learn is to use more of them.

I want to say they did a Mythbusters on roundabouts vs. traditional 4-way signalized intersections and the roundabouts were more efficient.

So society has to slow down and stop because of stupid people? Wait, that's exactly what we're doing today.

They are putting them all over Hammond, but they have not trained people on how to use them.

Perhaps we can all not be rubes and look into how they work...I bet there is a YouTube video or two one could watch sandwiched in between Nae Nae and whip videos.

I didn't think training was necessary. It seems pretty straightforward.
