You checked out how many breweries Colorado has? People love their high calorie beer there. Granted they eat less "bad" food but they are also 10x more active.

Other than Louisiana, I wouldn't say the south has "good food" certainly nothing that separates them from the most of the country.

Biscuits and gravy, grits, sweet tea, and everything deep fried and lathered in butter does not appeal to me.

Yea Hawaii seems way off. Most of the native Hawaiians I saw there were fat as frick.

Lots of military, who have to maintain a physical standard. Lots of active people who move there for the outdoor lifestyle. And lots of asians, who tend to be smaller.
