I'm

100% totally cool with everything including dating and marriage of different races

However, I judge individuals and hate most people of all races equally.

I think there are outright racists and then people who are ignorant to other races. I think most people who many would say are racist are just ill informed.

I know there are some black people that are racist as well but I guess I haven't had a chance to experience that. In the 95% black junior high I didn't have any issues.

Yeah, I don't believe you.

This state really does have a problem with racism
every state does, don't fool yourself into thinking we are the worst.racism will always exist in one way or another as long as humans inhabit this earth...just have to accept that fact and move on.

Aren't there any white people you can't stand ? Does that make you a self deprecating white person ?
No, most people have friends/acquaintances of various colors and have people they can't stand of various colors.
Racism, in the absolute, rarely exists in its original form.
What does exist is a nation full of panty waste snowflakes that think we live in some nirvana-like eutopian society. The world is a rough place Nancy, suck it up.

Yes, there are many racist whites in LA. Hell David fricking Duke got 58K+ votes for Senate this year, but racism is a two way street here. We only publicly here about one side, and it is socially acceptable for the other to be racist. Also a lot of minorities that call whites racist are simply escaping their own poor choices that led them to a shitty life. I don't see many successful black men calling every white man racist. They call out the instances that actually are racist.

I grew up in circles that were pretty suburban and racially tolerant, although in those circles, looking back, outright racism was substituted at time for subtle condescension. But I think my parents tried to shield me from overt racists and I knew very few people who voted for Duke.

The reality is that racism is part of the human condition. If it's not toward blacks, it's toward someone else - whoever is deemed as the other in any given society. You go to places like Italy, there's some serious racists. East Asia as well.

I'm sure you won't get many serious answers on this thread, but I'll try.

I was told once that the difference between racism and prejudice is that racism requires power. As such, few black people hold enough power to be racist. But... plenty of black people (and white people) hold prejudices towards races other than their own.

People tend to congregate around their own. Just look around. You have white neighborhoods, bands, music, carnival krewes, etc. And then you have black ones.

But in LA, it goes further. So many people in this state have never left their state, or even their city. They have never experienced life anywhere else. Their attitudes and behaviors get reinforced because they are surrounded in an echo chamber.

Now, I've lived in different places, and I don't think in LA, there is more prejudice by whites than anywhere else. Don't let the liberal yankees fool you... prejudice is alive and well in the north.

But... I think LA has more black prejudice towards white people than anywhere else. I've seen few places that hate whitey as much as LA. Maybe there is power in numbers, and they feel they can make it on their own without interacting with white people (I'd imagine it's easier to do that in NOLA than say Rhode Island).
