One of the guys I work with announced today that he and his GF of four months are engaged... He swears that she is not pregnant... That seems super quick to me seeing as how my wife and I dated for three year prior to popping the question...

Is this the new thing now? How long did you fellas wait?

I think this is a big question. When you're in your 30's gotta pull the trigger soon

A year and a half. Can't see marrying someone after only knowing them for 4 months.

I used to think less than a year and you are just rolling the dice. Marriages under the age of 25 are statistically way more likely to end in divorce.

Now I think if you're under 25 years old, less than 2 yrs, you're taking a serious risk. Any for anyone at all, less than about 1.5 yrs is risky, although if you're both older, (30's+) less so.

Need to allow time for any potential skeletons to come out of the closet

I honestly don't know. I have only met her once. I would say it is possible, since he is probably 25-28 range... but I'd only be guessing.

I don't see why one guy doing something makes it

.

Especially since folks 40 years ago got married after only a few months or weeks.

I don't want to live in a world where two people can't meet, quickly fall in love, and then make the biggest mistake of their lives... Call me a romantic I guess.
