Saw a thread a few years back about this degree? What do you think of this degree and school? For those of you who majored in it, what did you do with it? Almost done with this degree and I dont know if I want to work in this field. Maybe CAT or cargill

So what is it that you DO want to do?

I've got friends with AgBusiness degrees from LSU who are attorneys, life insurance agents, farmers, sales reps, farm technology, real estate, farm managers, ministers, teachers, Bankers and private lenders, grain buyers.

What you do with it is up to you, what are you afraid its going to limit you from?

I only did agbusiness bc I messed around too much and couldn't get into Bus. School.

Ive thought about working in regular firms( P&G, delloitte) , US Dept of State, or even becoming a librarian.

Weird I know.

I started working as a sales rep for a seed company. Once we had a baby I wanted a job with more security so now I work for the farm credit system. Ag market is in a slump right now but as long as there are people the need for Ag professionals will be around. If you're willing to be fexible there are great opportunities in the job market.

LSU's agbusiness degree is pretty weak. It's a watered down business degree with very little agricultural science requirements.

I know a lot of guys that start of in agronomy and find the science classes too hard then they swapped over to agbusiness.

You could be a tractor driver, hoe hand or round-up salesman, baw, that is if'n daddy doesn't outright own 2,200 acres of ice-cream ground.
