Some of the Market Center hotels are nice. Sheraton, etc.

Also some places downtown. Omni, etc. but the Omni can get pricy.

Market Center is close to downtown, restaurants, and just up 35 there's a Malibu Speed Zone and places like that.

Mia's on Lemmon Avenue. Get the brisket tacos. And then send me a thank you note.

Angry Dog. Best burger in town. Located downtown.

Cane Rosso. Best pizza in town. Located bout 800 feet away from Angry Dog.

All 3 places are reasonably priced and all have very good food. Enjoy.

I stay at the Hilton Anatole when I go to Dallas.

Bosceaux - I have 3 kids about those ages. I would definitely take them to the Perot Museum - like a smallish Smithsonian Natural History museum. Believe it or not the Dallas Aquarium isn't bad either. It's not as grand as the NO one, but still worth a visit. Also - Pole position racing is kinda high end go-cart racing and it is not the same go carts we grew up with. Its a lot of fun. That's in Frisco.

I suppose you should go to the 6th Floor museum so they can say they've been there. But that's a 2 hour deal. IF you are a Kennedy assassination buff this is good to see. If your kids have never heard of him then it'll be underwhelming.

Last - there are several different very nice theaters in Dallas that have Broadway shows /plays etc. I'd do that too. Dallas Theater Center, ATT performing Arts Center, and Wyly Theater - see what's playing.

Where are you staying and for how long?

Restaurants - look at places uptown and on Knox-Henderson.

Deep Ellum is not really considered downtown even though its moderately close to it.

As someone who doesn't live in Dallas, any time I see tall buildings and I appear to be downtown, I'm calling it downtown.

Howard Johnson Inn or Knights Inn off of Harry Hines/Northwest Highway is a great place to stay and there is lots to do in that area as well

Or the Motel 6/Days Inn in South Dallas near Oak Cliff or DeSoto is another great hotspot

the tallest building in DE is only 5 stories high hasn't been used since the 90's b/c the owners want it to decay enough that they can ignore its historical significance to knock it down.

next biggest is 3 tops.

I saw that. Are they moving from the Farmer's Market or is it a second location?

I need to get back soon.
