My son is in 2nd grade as are many of my friends my age kids. They all have graduation events and last day party's etc. everybody takes a pic with the teacher.

Do teachers have a problem or unease with this? You're basically gonna be plastered on 25 Facebook pages at a minimum. Just a change in what "comes with the territory" I guess.

None of my kids teachers care. That's what meet the teacher and end of year parties bring these days. This year the teacher did say they have a policy about not being connected to parents in social media. They want all communication between parents and teachers to be face to face, phone, or email.

If they do, they should take it as a hint to stop holding "graduations" from 2nd grade!

Damn people! It's called PASSING and its pretty much expected.

I am a teacher and it doesn't bother me. All of my students are seniors and I always take a class picture with them and at graduation.

My wife teaches 2nd and yes it happens alot, but not 20 times. It doesn't bother her, she always makes a positive comment about the child when she is tagged in the picture.

It's a sign of the times.

I don't mean class pics. Of course those have always been a given. I mean the billion individual pics with a student. And all being on Facebook or whatever.

It is what it is. we have to sign a waiver stating that our picture can be taken etc as well as the students have to sign a similar document stating that they are allowed to have their picture taken. I coach football so my picture is in social media a good bit.

I was there when you were. Younger than you though. Pretty sure she was there when you graduated.

I got to witness the lovely 3-37 football record God I hated that school.

A lot of teachers I know from various states have no FB page that the average person could find. A drastic alias or no FB at all.
Where I work most teachers do have FB, Instagram, and even snapchat. I don't friend students on social media other than school related (google classroom, remind, etc).
I don't mind being tagged in pics that the parents post. Coaching sports this happens quite a bit. Where I live and work, your life in somewhat an open book to the community. They know whatever and see whatever they want about you.

I wanna say the only reason we won a game my senior year was because the other team was either 2a or 1a.

They had at least 2 players playing both offense and defense they were so small. And they STILL gave us a run for our money

Central homecoming one year was a doozy. Our kicker kicked the ball backwards once and never kicked farther than 25 yards

Why the hell do some schools do this? We just got our report card on the last day with our grades the box checked off "Your child has been promoted to 3rd grade".

I know my kid's teacher doesn't have a problem with it. She's been running a class Photobucket account all year and emails the link to parents. She posts pictures from special events at school, field days, field trips, mass, class projects, etc

Do people really give second graders cell phones? I was very mature and wise beyond my years at that age, but most children do not need cell phones.
