Question for OT runners
The 5k race is on Sat. what is your running schedule the week of the race? Breakfast race day?

its just a 5k so outside of not running the day before i wouldnt have any kind of schedule. and probably a protein bar in the morning before the race.

It's a 5K.... rest the day before the race and eat light, low glycemic impact breakfast the morning of. Whole weat bagel/toast with peanut or almond butter would be fine. Drink water.

Like the others said, it's just a 5K. Get some rest, don't overdue the running before race day, and eat a very light breakfast, if any at all.

I ran one two weeks ago. I just did my normal thing, only I took Friday off of running or working out, then Saturday was the race. It was all good.

Nothing different on race day unless you are going for a PR then maybe do a shakeout.

banana morning of race. i like it to stay light for a shorter race. 5k's are literally a 25-30 min race or less. for a 10k, i like a small bowl of oatmeal with half a banana.

i need glucose early in the mornings, and the banana helps with lactic acid build up.
