I'm not talking baby back bitch felons like SuperSaint or meauxjeaux2, but rather dudes who have done a dime or more. This isn't a thread to talk about your time incarcerated or what you did (or didn't do), but a thread about how you are currently employed if at all. How do you feel as a member of society after your experience? Do you feel as if you are making a positive contribution to society after being one of the worst forms of life on the planet at one point?

In prison you are somebody's bitch. Oh, and you. You, my friend, would be da belle of da ball. Don't drop the soap! Don't drop the soap!

I stole. ... And I robbed. And I kidnapped... the... president's son. And held him for ransom.

And I nevah got caught, neither.

What was the food like in prison? Gruel. Sandwiches. Gruel omelettes. Nothing but gruel. Plus, you can eat your own hair.

The worst thing about prison was the... was the Dementors. They... were flying all over the place, and they were scary. And they'd come down, and they'd suck the soul out of your body, and it hurt!

My wife's cousin is currently doing a few years at Angola for numerous drug charges. He was a good kid and didndunuffin, but I have wondered what his life will be like when he gets out.

He seems to be a good young man, just has a drug issue. I would not recommend my company hire him, that I do know.

My brother in law has been out for about 4 years and he is just as worthless as the day he went in. He is a pill head con artist. The best thing for him would be to go away for a long long time and save his family some pain. He has emptied out my in-laws bank accounts writing forged checks to pay for his pill habit.

Sadly they were so worried about him being in prison after they pressed charges that they talked to a state senator friend and got him released early and his record expunged.

My brother has multiple felonies. He's employed as a "carpenter" (off and on) by my eldest brother.

He could totally get his life together, though, if he didn't have all kinds of substance abuse issues. My oldest brother will pay him well ($25 an hour), and he has a rent free place to stay. Yet he still can't get his crap together.

There's plenty of work out there in manual labor, if you're willing, though.

Stuff happens. People make mistakes.

Depends on how long ago and what they have done since.

As long as it didn't involve a child...

Per a good friend who was in Angola, you can tell when they are in jail/prison still if they will turn around. They can participate in the poor me mentality and blame others or take advantage of programs offered and make an effort to live right. He had done well since getting out, but many of his friends went back to the same life. He says it was obvious now looking back by their attitudes and actions while locked up.
