Question about my truck

The past couple days my ranger has been chugging/hoppy feel for the first mile after sitting for 8 hours (work). But after it warms up it drives perfect. Was wondering what might be causing it. Clogged fuel injectors? Truck shifts fine and no engine lights.
TIA
Truck is a 2004 4.0 with 89k miles

Air intake valve
Also known as idle control valve
Second choice: bad coil

I just googled that and the symptoms don't sound the same

Ok, the air intake valve would make it die at idle speed, too, or miss at higher speed.
How about the coil? Did it miss really bad after the torque converter locked up at about 45 mph and the RPMs naturally plummet, then run better the faster you went?

cam position sensor.
can get the after market for less than $100.
but get the removal/install tool as well.
and make sure you put it back in the EXACT same position as the old one. The tool will have an arrow on it so you can see if you lined it up correctly or not

Intake gasket may have a leak/crack small enough to be filled when it expands after the engine gets hot.

I let it warm up in my work parking lot before I left this morning and it ran totally fine.
