Question about my car's keyless entry acting up

A few weeks ago the unlock button on my key fob basically stopped working. Maybe 1 in 10 tries it will work after several seconds standing right next to the car. My initial thought was it just needs a new battery, but the lock button works flawlessly. I can stand across a whole parking lot and still hear the car beep when I lock it. So I don't think it's a battery issue but more so with strictly the unlock itself.
I'm sure this is very basic but I've never had this happen. Is there a quick and simple fix for this or do I need to go to the dealership and get a brand new one?

I'd plan on getting another battery just in case, they are cheap. When you open the fob to check what size battery you need check the chip board and the button pad to make sure they aren't dirty or seated improperly.

Had the same thing happen to me once in an old car. Threw the old fob away and used a new one. Problem solved.
Thank me later

yeah I will, but I was curious since the 'lock' button works perfectly fine from quite a long ways a way, so it's not like the battery is on the verge of death. Just seemed odd one button would work perfectly fine adn other not work at all which would seem that it's not a battery issue.

My remote start button quits working first when the battery gets low. Then, each one randomly works.

get a new fob. then, let them program said fob to your vehicle.

Order a new fob on amazon. Takes 2 minutes to activate with your vehicle.
