Making plans and need some recommendations. Looking at Now Larimar, Iberostar, The Reserve...others. Any solid first hand experience anyone can share.

Barceló Bavaro was very nice. We did the adults only resort, but there is a kid friendly one that is connected to it. Top notch and fairly priced.

Don't waste your time or money. The Atlantic side is better than the Caribbean side.

Didn't you hear? Tropical Depression #9 wiped it out. It's gone, man.

Wife and I did a week at the Now Larimar a few years ago. It was a good time and felt like we got good value for our money. Food was decent but not great. Rooms were fine and housekeeping was good at keeping them clean. I would stay there again if I got another great deal, but I'd probably look at some of the other resorts first.

Went to Paradisus.

Not the reserve.

Was incredible. Unbelievable.

Scuba, snorkel, live shows, room service, all food and drinks during lunch and dinner paid for.

Was awesome

Stayed at Now Larimar a month ago. Like someone else said, was average to above average. Staff was friendly, rooms were decent, food was ok. But Punta Cana isn't necessarily somewhere I would go again unless it was a crazy deal or had to (wedding, etc)

Paradisus was one of the best places I have ever been. It was very very nice. Stayed a week with my inlaws and they are from the DR. Everyone loved it

Agree with these comments. We did Sanctuary Cap Cana 3 weeks ago and it was ok. The primary difference in these all inclusive places is the service. Sanctuary had mediocre service I thought.

Have a buddy who keeps his big azz boat down in the carribean at different islands. FWIW, he says Exumas is where u want to be.

Seems every resort has a mix of reviews on Trip advisor. Its either awesome or dog $hit...Not much in between. First trip to DR so trying to do homework and avoid a disaster.

Wife and I stayed at Iberostar Grand Hotel Bavaro in 2012. It was pretty damn awesome and we plan to return soon.

We did Paradisus Punta cana for our honeymoon and loved it. I can't remember what the levels are but we didn't the second highest. Our "butler" made all of our reservations for us and had wine/champagne waiting in our room for us every night after dinner. Can't wait to go back

Nephew is @ Excellence as I type this. I think they're coming back tomorrow.

From the pictures posted, looks like a nice place.
