If you've ever seen top gun, the F-14 was the jet featured in that movie

For me its the F14, F15, A10, AC130 gunship...in that order.
Not all "fighters' but you never want to see the 10s or the 130 flying toward your general direction!!

no, blue angels will be here tho. the list of performers beyond that is still being worked out.

the air force isn't flying one of the rarest, most-powerful fighter jets on the planet in an air show.

The last 2 air shows held in Belle Chase had F22 demos.

that's crazy. I actually asked if we were gonna have 22s awhile back and that was basically the answer I was given. not surprising.

I wouldn't be surprised if they hang up the demo team at some point, especially with leadership changes from the top down. It's an amazing aircraft to watch. They can tumble the damn thing and recover effortlessly

Not in action but it still flies to maintain the AF Type 1000 storage standards

quote:

Aircraft in Type 1000 storage are to be maintained until recalled to active service, should the need arise. Type 1000 aircraft are termed inviolate; meaning they have a high potential to return to flying status and no parts may be removed from them. These aircraft are ‘re-preserved’ every four years.

Talking with my uncle yesterday, he said they the 22 will be at the show this year.. he never said in what capacity, but that it would be there

One year they had a F-117 parked on the strip for everyone to see but I don't remember if it flew or not

Didn't see that someone asked about it already

I'll talk with my uncle and see if he knows anything else that's going to be at the show

They had one at the air show at Robins AFB here last fall, it was bad arse and it then flew with a P-51 Mustang as kinda of an old school new school fighter plane routine.
