Nah, Philando shouldn't have been riding around getting high, while carrying a gun (legal gun or not), with a child in the backseat, and then continue to reach towards the gun after he was told to stop.

I'll never understand these types of protests. If someone declines to prosecute on their own, fine, by all means be pissed off. When you put it to a jury that is made of regular people among the community and they decide they person is innocent, then you go about your life. People just like you and me (or those from St.Paul in this case) decided the case. No judge, prosecutor, or gov't official did.

Lmao wut? This is the most egregious case yet. The man was asked to reach for his license and the cop shot him. I don't care if he was high, had a kid, anything, that's murder. The cop should be in prison.

Apparently the guy had his gun between his leg and the seat and the cop saw the gun and told him to stop reaching immediately and he kept reaching for his wallet and not listening to the cop's directions. I saw this in the other thread about the verdict and that was the first time I had heard the cop could see the gun or any other information besides watching the video.

When I have been pulled over in the past for speeding or unknown tail light being out, the police approached my window and the first thing I tell them is that I am a CCP holder and where my guns are in the vehicle. JPSO and LSP thanked me for telling them and then directed me out of my vehicle and to go between our vehicles to run my license and then have let me go after they find out my license is clean.

Is it different department policies to have citizens leave their cars when known weapons are in the vehicle or just individual officer preference? It is beyond a fricked up situation all around and I don't know how different police departments are so different in policy but I am all for more training because they have to make life and death decisions in split seconds and always have the benefit of the doubt even in bad shoots or incorrect search warrants etc.

Castille's mother said she hopes the officer dies tonight.

Make of that what you will.
