Here is the deal. My gf's brother is getting married May 1st and I am wanting to propose this weekend. Would I be a deek by proposing to her so close to her brothers wedding? The last thing I want to do is take attention away from her brother and her brothers fiance. No pics you deeeekkkssss. Thanks for the help in advance.

If it's in your heart, go for it.
I suppose you have the blessing of the father already?
I would ask him his suggestion.

Good luck

Either way they will think you're a douche: if you do it now, you're taking away from them; wait until after the wedding and you're taking away from them so do what you want and take away from them

Yes, I have her dad's blessing. I have not spoke to him about the timing though.

You should propose at the reception. They'll be a photographer and all her friends and family. It'll be perfect.

Should probably wait until the wedding. Go with her and get absolutely shite-faced drunk. Then while they're cutting the cake get in a huge fight with her on the dance floor and break up with her.

I would wait 3-4 months. That way (1) you're not taking the attention away from her brother and (2) you're not doing it immediately after their wedding.

It must suck to not have friends and family to ask this kind of advice. It's kind of sad that you have to resort to asking OT for advice.

You should propose at the reception. The bride would love it.

The OP should consult with the father when he goes to ask for his blessing

Unless she's preggo, the classy thing to do would be to wait a month or two after the wedding.

Is she preggo?

I would ask him. Also, consider that you will only do it once......kind of one of those "if you have to ask" things.
