Jared LeBouef - University Club. Excellent teacher. I've been playing golf for 20+ years and I'm a 4 handicap, would recommend him to anyone.

Burkstaller is pretty good. Like mentioned, he's at Oaks at Sherwood now.

However, if you've never swung before, spend some time at the range focusing on grip and swing plane. If you have a video camera, you can pretty much self diagnose at first. It's usually pretty obvious. Most pros for beginners will just focus on grip and basic fundamentals.

Once you play some and can make decent contact, then get a lesson. That'll help point out the non-obvious issues. Of course a pro could help too, but IMO a waste of money for what they're gonna tell you.

Take a few lessons to learn the fundamentals. If you have shitty fundamentals you will never be able to enjoy the game to its fullest. It is a great game.

BeaverPRO probably has some extra time on his hands, seeing that he had no traffic coming home from work today.

Definitely save some dough on lessons at first. Go to the Oaks at Sherwood's range and hit some balls. There is a good chance that there will be others out there that you can meet and probably play a round with as well.
