Private golf lessons in Baton Rouge

In the new year I will be looking for someone to take private golf lessons with. Wondering how I would go about tracking down someone for lessons.

I have no experience so, he will have his work cut out for him.

Any recommendations?

And how much am I looking to spend?

People will tell you "go get lessons first so you don't develop bad habits" but I'll tell you to practice hitting the ball using the proper grip and at least get comfortable with that.

Chris Burkstaller at Santa Maria is good.

David Marchand at Metairie Country Club. He lives in Prairieville and will meet you anywhere. Very very good.

Go buy Harvey Penicks Little Red Book.

Then you can forget about lessons. CB is around $85/hr
I am sure DM is $100+. I took a few lessons way back when he was the pro at sherwood forest cc about 10 yrs ago and it was more than $85. Also anyone at CCLA or UC is going to be $100+/hr.

I have a buddy in Orlando that is a Class A at a club and he gets $225 a lesson.

Just curious what Paul Allen thinks is a fair price for an hour of a professionals time.

Chris b has his own website with all his info. Great teacher. Solved a long term issue with my swing in 3 sessions.

re: Private golf lessons in Baton Rouge
1 hour for 85 seems fair....

i have no long term issues, considering i JUST started.

i was planning on doing one lesson then playing for a month then another or something like that.

you say he is very good?
