I've been seeing more and more, paying premium because you have to have whatever is best, which is "obviously the most expensive"

Go to buy ketchup, it has to be in some special jar and 2-3 times more expensive than Heinz...because there's no way Heinz will do for you.

Go to buy eggs, has to be organic free-range and 5.99/dozen.....even though someone shows you that the brand in a known bullshite marketer and had charges filed against them for false advertising by animal rights advocates......you MUST buy the most expensive eggs, because they still "HAVE TO be better than" lower priced eggs.

Want to drink wine or beer.....damn well be over a $12/glass, $6/pint drink.....or it will give you a hangover and taste like shite.....you just know.

out to eat, entree better be a min of $20....or its garbage "Applebee's" type food that will give you food poisoning.

Before you had to be open minded to try new things.....years ago it was "try sushi" .....now it's "try McDonald's"..and the new generation acts as put off by McDonald's and generic things as a 60 year old redneck was about "ain't eatin no raw fish!" 20 years ago.

Reminds me of a bunch of finicky 13 year olds who act like a horse on your polo is the only polo you can be seen wearing.

I like what I like but I clearly do not have to partake of just the best since I read this bunch of shitty drivel.

Put down your shitty busch light and go to bed.

I don't HAVE to buy anything. I think I have Heinz ketchup at home. I never really thought about it. When it comes to alcohol I just get what I like, now that I think about it I don't even know the exact cost of what I drink.

As for as this McDonalds shite, WTF are you talking about?

You must have a child's palette. When yo have a refined pallette that understands the difference between natty ice and two hearted ale, between a fish filet from McDonald's and the cobia collar from pesche COME TALK TO ME THEN, ONLY THE BEST!

You probably spent more on your truck than I spend on wine; you don't see me giving a frick that we have different interests.

It's hard to say I'm overpaying when I like my life enough enough to not care what other people do with their own money. Maybe you should stop being so cheap.

What if those things are truly better, and you just don't know it? Some people just like what's good and disregard prices

I was with you until you said "Applebee's type food." That chain restaurant garbage is, well, garbage.

And I love craft beer. Doesn't mean I won't slam a 12 pack of Miller lite.

Many things buying the more expensive pays off in the end.

Clothes, electronics, just to start.

As far as your food rant - the quality of the food you put in your body matters. It does not have to be the most expensive.

Yes many companies falsely advertise organic and the like, but it still seems pretty obvious that not eating produce drenched in pesticides is better than the alternative. Often times you must pay more for the more expensive process.

Society has become more aware of what they eat. There are three main ways people assume lead to a healthy body. Muscle training, cardio, and eating healthy. Most of my life, I assumed the first two were what was important, and as long as I did those in mass quantities, I could eat what I wanted. Well,as I hit 30, then 35 --- that didn't work so well anymore. So, I started eating healthy - and presto - I'm one sexy motherfricker. I don't even need to work out or do cardio anymore (i do a bit) but I stay in pretty good shape just by eating better.

The world has been educated (slightly) to the dangers of processed food and sugars... is it that big of a surprise that people try to avoid them?

Most adults quickly figure out what is worth paying extra for and what is not.

Being scared to pay for quality and/or service is why we have Walmart.
