Pretty moronic to focus on these statues when the city itself is in deep shite.
It was a distraction technique by Mitch to shift everyone's attention away from the abysmal job he has done as mayor.

What....No Murders? This can only mean it's a monumental success on Mitch's new strategy!

Yes it's to begin a process of healing with the statues down.
I can't tell you're how many young dindus have claimed the statues as being the precipitous of engaging in crime in NOLA.
In Mitch We Trust

I'm confused the statues are down, why is there still violence in NOLA?
Why are you confused? Two days later and you're still melting over some statues that you never once thought about beforehand. But keep melting snowflake

Are you saying there was no point in removing the statues?

Not sure, but he did say that the statues were why people moved away from NO

“The cultural and economic and the spiritual loss to this city for having those statues up that have run people out of the city,” Landrieu claimed. “The great migration that sent some of our best and brightest to places across the country that we don’t have the benefit of has been incredible.

There was no point in putting them up. Didn't change the outcome of the war.

Yes.
He said the statues were the cause of division and the reason so many people left and we had so many problems in the city. With the statues gone the healing would begin and new Orleans would become inclusive of all people and businesses would move here and college grads would stay here and we'd become a city akin to Houston and Atlanta

No he didn't say that. But now that the statues are down, nobody else will be driven away by the offensive nature of the statues. It doesn't matter that you can't walk from your car to your door without being robbed/carjacked. Nor does it matter you can't find a job in the city if you are a young professional. It was those damn statues causing everyone to leave.
