Male, his name is Zeus, 1 1/2 years. Does that pinch collar work? I can't get away from the normal metal one, always thought that plastic one looked odd.

Yes, pinch collar works great for my girl. The key is keeping it high on her neck.

When I don't use it, she has a tendency to pull me.

Collar has to stay high, I was more interested in the choice you made with the plastic one.

Zeus is 85lbs, where did your gal get her ears done? Good vets that can still crop are hard to come by. The one that did Zeus is 70yo or so and ppl send dobies from all over the map.

Those snakes are gorgeous. What kind are they?

Thanks. I did a lot of searching to find some real high quality morphs.
Jayapura Green Tree Python
Zebra Jungle Carpet Python
Jungle Jaguar Carpet Python

The Jungle Jag is a real stunner. She gets brighter with every shed. I honestly don't think I've seen a better specimen anywhere. Here's a pic after her most recent shed...

I love the carpet pythons. They don't get too big, generally in the 6-7 ft. range with a build about the same as a large rat snake, just a bit more girth. They are very active - mine are almost exclusively arboreal and rarely touch the ground. They make full use of everything in the cage. They eat extremely well. They don't have real strict humidity requirements like the Green Tree Python - I mist the cage with a spray bottle once every 2 or 3 days. What's most fun is that they are born with drab brown coloration. Around 6 months they start showing more yellow. They'll get more yellow every shed up until about 2 years. The most prized specimens will retain their yellows, while some fade a good bit with age. So if you buy really young, you don't know exactly what you'll end up with. They are great pets (mine have never attempted to bite me) and are fairly uncommon.

Here's a pic of one of my cages...

I chose the pinch collar based upon a recommendation from a person that I know that trains dogs. She believes it is more humane than the spike collar.

I'm anticipating that my girl will weigh approximately 70 to 75 lbs. when she becomes an adult.

I go to Magazine Street Animal Clinic in New Orleans. Dr. Teresa Gernon came highly recommended and she is particularly skillful in the art and cropping for a Doberman. Their entire staff has been phenomenal.

The Colonel... Showed up under a deer stand covered in ticks at the camp when he was about 8 weeks old. Loves to ride in the car and fetch a tennis ball. He's my best buddy now. Always had chocolate labs growing up but I would get another border collie in a heartbeat.

Man, those are great stories. You'll never regret spending that money, nor will you ever need it.

Thanks, and you're absolutely right. The way I see it, I actually saved a ton of money by not marrying (and subsequently divorcing) the girl I was with.
