I'm sure it will be as "severe" as the last wave that came through

So you're just letting us know that there is a possibility of a bad storm this weekend?

That's some damn fine reporting. In other news, possible metor impact as well.

I was in Target yesterday and got an alert of a radar indicated tornado right down the street. I hate this time of year.

Should be some really sold ait moving in soon. It was -74 near Delta Jct. The other day. That stuff should be draining into the lower 48

First round starts tonight, with the best chances for bad stuff on Saturday.

Unlike typical severe weather setups here, there will be ample instability and increasing strong updraft potential as colder air filters in the upper atmosphere. There should be a slight temp inversion just above the surface tonight. That will limit tornado potential and could disrupt convection.

Storms that do get good convection going will present a risk of unusually large hail (goofball to a slight chance of baseball).

The inversion will break Saturday. Setting up a scenario with good instability and enough shear available to produce tornados. Convection could be widespread enough to limit supercells and normally we see storms develope here and go severe as they move NE into the landmass.

Again, hail is the biggest concern but also some damaging gusts.

Keep an eye out this weekend along the gulf coast.

No reason to be too overconcerned. I just wanted to highlight there's potential for more significant impacts than the typical high shear low instability set up.

BR isn't going to be as well placed as places east, most likely.
