If you know you are throwing money on fire to "make memories" and can afford to light said money on fire, then yes it is worth it.

If you can not, no.

We bought a house with a pool. It's got a copper ion system as opposed to a chlorine or salt system. We spend MAYBE $300 per year ... change the copper ion bar once each year and husband adds clorox from time to time. He has done pretty much nothing all winter and it's crystal clear and clean. Cold but beautiful! Kids enjoy it and so do we.

Are you 18-25?

If so, and single, it is the single greatest panty dropper in history if you live alone.

If not, it is NOT worth they extra 150 a month.

Yes, if you have children who are young enough to utilize it on a regular basis. Go heated even if you live in Louisiana.

Put my second one in this house. Love em.

Most pool builders are sketchy AF.

Good luck.

Love mine!! Used it this past weekend for some company that came over. The cost isn't noticeable in terms of chemicals and gas to heat the pool/hot tub, and the maintenance is simple.

pools are a money pit.

having said that, we bought a house with a liner pool/chlorine.

rolled liner replacement into closing costs of house and thanks to TROUBLEFREEPOOL.COM (check it out) maintaining it costs next to nothing.

the secret: lots of chlorox bleach from sams and arm & hammer baking soda.

99% of your pool issues will be solved with those 2 things and a good water testing kit.

you dont need algaesides or SHOCk or any of that other $$$$$ pool stores try to sell you.

thats about the sum of it.

25,000 gal pool, I do not spend near that much per month.

$40 on pump electricity, $10 on chemicals, $10 on water.

Sure things fail every so often but a homeowner is already intimately familiar with that.

We found a house we liked already that had one. Been in this house 4 years, it's getting used less and less. At this point becoming yard jewelry. Looks nice.

My wife and I are in our mid 40's with 4 teenage kids and we use ours more then the kids do. At the same time we had the pool put in I bought an 8 person hot tub that needed some work.

I've got the hot tub working and built a new cabinet for it. There isn't a week that goes by that one of them doesn't get used, especially the hot tub in the winter.

We're even thinking about getting a heat pump for the pool that'll heat and cool the water.

If y'all like the outdoors and the water, do it.

Do not use Clorox.

Pool stores are right next to pool builders on the sketchy scale.

smart guy here. thousands of folks are using this without any problem. whats your beef with it?

eta the chlorine in chlorox is way more pure than those tabs you use.

Liability. What if some kid drowns in your pool when you aren't around?

I have a salt pool now, but when I used the tabs I found that they dissolved much slower and thus were much easier on o deal with.

The trick is getting the water right and keeping it that way.

How many gallons of that bleach are you using in he summer?

I just don't see it as cost-effective and it will be much easier to balance the water with tabs.
