Pool net connector question?

The plastic pin that held my net to my pole broke. Can I use a normal bolt with a washer and a wingnut to hold it together or do I need a plastic one?

A stainless steel bolt with stainless washers and nut would be fine. That's how I'd repair it.

I'm sure you could, but the plastic pins are dirt cheap.
