How does drawing your weapon guarantee you're going to shoot?

Depending on the circumstances, B could be enough to get shot.

Once you decide to move on to C, there's no question: you get leaky.

With no other factors probably C.

If you are Jack Reacher, the guy in that Miami Vice video or have a known history of proficiency with a firearm maybe A or B.

Depends where the officer is in relation to the barrel. If it is pointed at the officer and my hand can get to it (Aqib Talib and Plaxico Burress) then I can shoot it.

If he doesn't get the opportunity to point the gun at you, how do you know he's going to shoot? How do you know he's even going to hit you?

NONE OF THAT MATTERS.

This should be an easy question for you to answer -
If a person has a gun drawn on you and pointed at your chest, would you consider yourself in imminent danger?

Just because he starts his draw doesn't automatically mean he's going to shoot, so maybe we should wait until he does shoot...just to be safe!!!

To be fair it might have accidentally went off. Might want to let him shoot twice just to be safe.

A. As soon as you fail to comply with their verbal commands? ( NOT life threatening )

B. When you resist their attempts to take you into custody? ( Depends, Are you physically fighting them while carrying or actively running away? )

C. When you reach towards the gun? ( NOW would be when you die )

D. When you establish a grip on the gun? ( TOO LATE )

E. When you start the draw? ( TOO LATE )

F. When the gun clears the pocket/waistband/holster? ( TOO LATE )

G. When the gun is pointed at the officer? ( TOO LATE )

H. When you fire the first shot at the officer? ( TOO LATE )

Maybe he's just unloading it for the cop and the only way he knows how to unload it is by shooting it. Cops need to learn how to dodge, dip, dive, duck, and dodge.

Nowhere in the use of deadly force does it say that you must know he's going to shoot before you can defend yourself.

If he doesn't pull the trigger how do you know he's going to shoot? By your logic we should let him actually shoot the gun before returning fire.

Maybe sooner if the situation calls for it.
