Authorities say Jeremy McDole, 28, was shot Wednesday afternoon after police responded to a 911 call about man who had shot himself and was still armed with a handgun.
Video of the shooting posted online, which the chief said appeared to be authentic, shows an officer approaching McDole with a gun drawn, shouting "show me your hands" and "drop the gun." Other officers then appear in the video with their guns drawn, yelling similar commands.

Honestly, I didn't see him do anything that would warrant the cops shooting. The video is kinda bad quality and shaky though.

I'll happily rail on cops as much as anyone here.
But hard to work up any sympathy this time. He was non-complaint AND armed. Probably got what he wanted.

What I thought was strange was that when they shot him his right leg stuck straight out. How does that happen if you are paralyzed? Also, I wouldn't make a good cop because i didn't see a gun in his hands when they shot him. I actually never saw his gun.

He was paralyzed, meaning he couldn't control his muscle movement due to some injury to his spinal cord more than likely. His muscles still work fine, assuming he still had muscle tone, etc. That's what muscle spasms are, and folks who are paralyzed tend to suffer from them greatly and need to take relaxers to help stop them from happening all the time.
