Have any of you baws done the Polar Extress train thing coming to NOLA? My wife is freaking out about it, but I've never heard of it. Is it just supposed to be a train ride to the hood with Christmas lights? Wondering if this train will have piss and bums like regular trains.

Whatever she's into man. No judgement, it would be nice if you included pics next time. (Pre Train)

I looked at it today...the wife and our friends all want to bring the kids. Starts at the Union Terminal off Loyola. The website just says it's a ride where they retell the story from the book. You get hot chocolate and a sleigh bell for each paid ticket. It's a bit pricey though: $52/adult & $37/child 2-12 years old.

They have been doing this for many years on the Grand Canyon Railway in Williams, AZ.

LINK

It's VERY popular here, my friends with kids have told me that you have to reserve this several months before Christmas because it sells out every year. Everyone I've talked to that has gone has loved it and said their kids love it as well. On the one they do here...all the kids wear their pajamas for the train ride.

The website for the NOLA rides also encourages wearing of pajamas.

I just bought four tickets for the family. Only groups of seats left seem to be 10am or noon during the week, 10 am on weekends, or after Christmas. Jumped on the entire row when it popped open at 4:30. We tried to get all the my sisters' and my kids on together, but could barely find room for my family.

Did the one in Texas. But it was part of the Texas State railroad museum. it was actually kind of cool.
