It was a really nice course. Best I've ever played. Price was steep but I was on vacation so I splurged ($150). Greens was smooth and well groomed. The fairways were well maintained and the bunkers were soft. I played like crap but really enjoyed the scenery. Anyone else played there before? Any other courses I should check out in the area? ??

Read last night that they are replacing their greens and have built temporary greens until the new ones are ready in September.

Good choice. Honestly, any of the Sandestin courses are worth playing. Raven is the best of them but Links is a beautiful track too. Burnt Pine is a good one too.

I didn't care for Regatta. Can't remember why, but it's not on my shirt list to play again.

Fillmore, I hadn't heard that. Philly not worth greens fees with so many other options.

If you liked the Raven, Burnt Pines is the Raven+.

Like the other poster said, play Regatta as well.

Camp creek is pretty nice too. Played it when it first opened and it was a dunes style course then everything grew in. Saw a few GDCKs though.

I heard you had to be staying on the property to play Burnt Pine.

Can you play these courses If you're not staying there? I was looking into golf in Destin today and came away thinking I couldn't play Burnt Pine unless I was a member or staying at the resort.

Played all the Destin area courses a lot. I would rank them:

Burnt Pine
Raven
Regatta Bay
Kelly Plantation
Emerald Bay (Been a long time - don't know what shape its in now)

Haven't played Camp Creek

Played Raven for a US Open qualifier about 10 years ago, and they double cut and rolled the greens and put the tees 2 steps from the back of the back tees every hole. It was a challenge.

The Raven is feasible, but the aura of Burnt Pine is unsurpassed.
