Places to watch the BCS title game in the quarter

My parents are going to be in NO for the title game (both LSU alum) and they dont know where to go because they are worried about getting scammed by paying money for a pregame party showing up and it being a crappy bar or no bar. They have a hotel room in the quarter so somewhere around there would be great. Thanks yall

Old Absinthe House is the best by far. It's expensive as all get-out, but the back TV by the fireplace is golden for games.

I know it sounds smart aleck, but just about every single bar, hotel lounge, and restaurant will have the game on T.V.

If you really want a suggestion, you need to specify what street/block/area, maybe what hotel, and what kind of atmosphere they are looking for.

Please tell them not to worry. They won't get "scammed" for paying for a pre-game party, etc. The choices are enormous, and most places know that they better deliver good t.v. coverage and accomodations, or people will simply leave to find a better deal.

If they're looking for something a bit sane, the nicer hotel bars are probably a good option. I remember in '07 the Sheraton had a big viewing in their lobby. The more obscure hotels will probably be even less crazy.

I would recommend getting there a day early and doing some recon work - just walking around and seeing what places they like.

thanks yall for the suggestions. I think they are in a smaller hotel in the quarter, i think they are looking for a good game atmosphere but not incredibly crazy.

EDIT: anyone know if theyll be broadcasting it on the side of a building in the quarter? i know for the saints super bowl they did.
