I really don't understand how people can mistreat dogs.

I wish I had before and after photos of one of our dogs. Not nearly to this extreme, but we saved a dog that was given to us, by folks who had sort of saved him, but the pound turned him down, that essentially weighed about 30 pounds and I could see every bone of his body, and he had welps all over him due to his excessive licking and biting himself due to fleas, etc.
We took him in and now he is a robust 50 - 60 pound dog and full of energy and very happy now.
We have a few dogs, but this one I am most proud of what my SO and I did to save him because he really wasn't going to make it.
Kudos to all who save a dog, they'll love you for life for just a few ounces of energy and help given to them.
