Pianist Talk with Pecker - Ludovico Einaudi

To say that he's incredible would be understatement.
The 61 year old Ludovico Einaudi (eye-now-dee) from Turin, Italy, began composing his own music as a teenager and later trained at the Conservatorio Verdi in Milan.
He is, in my opinion, one of the greatest pianists and composers alive today. To say this man is an inspiration would be like saying freedom was an inspiration to George Washington, or Mel Gibson in the Patriot, or Mel Gibson in Braveheart. What I’m trying to say is that I have great love and affection for this man.
Your boy Pecker played piano when he was just a young lad (from the age of about 7-10). About 2 1/2 years ago I picked it back up and I usually play 2-3 times a week depending on what songs I’m trying to learn. Most of those songs are Ludovico songs, which can be quite difficult for someone who is still not all that experienced.
He began as a classical composer and you can hear that in how he plays, but he incorporates a wide range of styles and genres into his music so I still think you'll find something you like even if piano isn't typically something you enjoy.
All of his stuff is great, but if you’ve not yet been introduced to Ludovico, here are some of his works that I highly recommend for your virgin ears.
Ancora
Bella Notte
Nuvole Bianche
Samba
Divenire
He may not be a wild animal, but he is a majestic creature, and I would be doing a great disservice to both you and Ludovico if I didn't bring him to your attention. This beautiful man plays all over the world so it’s tough to catch him in the states. If I can make it, my plan is to catch him live on October 29, 2017 in DC. I invite you to join me, and together we will celebrate Ludovico Einaudi!

You're like a real Liberace type? Cool.

Reminds me, I need to dust off my didgeridoo.

Pecker, you are one diverse and well-read dude
I will be honest though...I enjoy Animal Talk better.
But wait...
You managed to combine both.

The OT needs more high level thinking and less laugh at the trashy people threads. I support you, Pecker

Glad to hear you went back to the piano. I also returned after a 13 year absence. I haven't tried any of Einaudi's music. Will have to check it out. Enjoy.

Bella Notte reminds me of the prologue from Beauty and the Beast.

Nuvole Bianche is the first piece I learned from him. It seemed like it would be an easier song to learn just based on the first couple of pages. I have a decent foundation, but not great by any means, so I ended up having to learn the keys and play from memory (which sort of feels like cheating) vs just reading straight from the music and playing (which I wish I could do better).
His sheet music is fairly easy to find but I have it all if needed.

I've never heard of this guy but will check out some of your links when I get a chance. I like to play some Professor Longhair and rock/blues songs (that I like) on piano when I have time.
While I have a lot of sheet music that I will eventually get to, I have to be really inspired to take the time to learn new songs. Two songs that I may try to find sheet music for soon are Blue Sky (Allman Brothers) and Hey Pocky A Way (The Meters).

Stolen from Jerry Lee Lewis.

I'm similar. If I hear a song I like (on tv or a movie or anywhere) it'll motivate me learn it. I'll check out the ones you mentioned. Two songs that I'm trying to learn that aren't Ludovico are:
Agnes Obel - September Song
Explosions in the Sky - Your Hand in Mine

I like the "laugh at the trashy people" threads....they make me feel really good about myself in those moments when I have self-doubt.
