If you don't have an emergency fund established, savings account or cash in your checking account to pay for veterinary bills, you may not be suitable to own a pet at this stage of your life.

I mean how far are you willing to go for your dog? Everyone has a cut off, just how far is yours compared to how much money you have?
If your dog has something that will cost 15k to fix, do you really think it's going to have a great quality of life afterwards?

No insurance recommended. Pay out of pocket or put to sleep.

Yeah, don't get it.
There are a ton of loopholes and fine print and it is VERY rarely worth it.

Or at least a credit card

No insurance and too cheap to put down. Will call cops when the time comes.

I told my wife we did, even saved the number in her phone for her. So now if something happens to the dog then she calls the number, talks to the shelter and gets a new fricking dog.

Not sure. How large is your dog? $65/month I would 100% not do, but I couldn't pass up such a small price for ours. Ours is an 80% reimbursement, so that's something.

You can get one with VPN depending on the dog for like $12 a month. You get reimbursed for heart guard and the shots almost to the full amount. It basically pays for itself I think. We had one and our dog ended up having bladder stones and needing X-rays and shite. The total for all his procedures was like $500 and his insurance paid back like 80%. Totally worth it at that point.

The best insurance against medical expenses is having no pet.
