I know alot of sayings don't really make sense when you think about them and this is obviously a result of people being too lazy to say 'good morning', but this has turned into one of the dumbest things people say.

Everyone is basically just walking around making a statement about what time of day it is. Every time someone says 'morning' or 'evening' to me it makes me want to just say some generic statement back to them like 'Wednesday' or 'sunny'.

Is this Obama's fault?

You're a man who wears yoga pants. Your opinion is invalid.

I thought the "Good" part was just understood. So far no one has seemed confused by me saying this to them.

I say Mawnin too, even though I don't really speak like that

I take it one step further and just say Mornin'.

I'm way too busy to finish that word properly. Saves time.

It's a safe play incase you're not having a good morning. You don't want to lie to their face but at the same time you don't want to burden them with your problems by explaining why you're not having a good morning.

Take it a step further, I think anyone who doesn't say "have a good morning" should be put in prison. Good morning is lazy.

sometimes it's not a good morning. (Most mornings probably)

So just saying morning is acknowledging what time of the day it is as sort of a greeting. (think: "Hi" "Hello" etc)

What if the person you encounter isn't having a good morning? What if they had a family member or close friend die or get diagnosed with a terminal disease the night before. They are just simply waking up the next morning and going about their day because they don't know how to cope with the news? Is it a good morning to them? I say morning to people I encounter because I don't know what happened to them the night or maybe even 5 minutes prior to my encounter with them. It's a way for me to acknowledge another person exists, and go about my way.

Did you know "Goodbye" supposedly comes from "God be with you"?

If I ever hear you say "Goodbye", or worse "bye", or still even worse, "kthxbi", you better not get mad if I whoop your arse you lazy prick.

But when did acknowledging the time of day become a greeting? You would walk by someone and say '8:45' (unless your Fogel and staring at her arse in which case you're smooth as hell).

Perhaps this is all just an attempt to be PC. How are they to know what sort of "morning" you self-identify with on this particular day. By just saying "morning," they don't trigger you in case you were having a bad morning when they said "good morning." Do you always identify as "good" in the mornings?........

...OR you're just having your feathers ruffled for no reason and should be thankful that people fricking acknowledge your existence on a daily basis.
