Does it offend you when you cook for someone or for a group of people and before even taking a bite there's the person pouring salt/pepper or asking for other seasonings or condiments to put on something they may like the way it is?

Gives me the red arse....

me too but im know as the one who has a ton of flavor and i experiment with a bunch of things so the majority of people i ook for know to taste it first. and i warn new people to taste first.

one gripe i get is that i over season, but i think sometimes dishes nee it.

I just want people to enjoy the meal so whatever they want to do to enjoy it is fine by me.

If they never have had your cooking before, then it's just weird habit on their part

It they've had your food before, then your cooking is bland

salt and pepper don't bother me. Just when I grill ribeyes and guests ask for ketchup.

Not even a little.

Sometimes I tell someone to try it before adding something if I know it already has a lot of that spice in it, but I don't care what they do to it.

I think you first have to ask yourself if you've cooked for that person before. If you have, you may want to spend more time thinking about why they are making you angry.

My wife asked for steak sauce when we first got together.

Told her to gtfo, she hasn't even tried it yet.

She tried it and is still here.

If it's a restaurant that I've visited a bunch of times, I know what to expect. They're not going to miraculously stop preparing bland food.
