People that are saying that the NOLA protesters today were weak protesters.

Look,....I hate BLM and these protesters as much as anyone......but we can't complain about the violent protest and then call out other protest for being weak after getting turned away by the police and not putting up a huge fight.
Even though the statue protest today was stupid, and likely full of uneducated people, they didnt get violent or loot.
I can live with that.

Posted on 9/24/16 at 4:49 pm to LakeViewLSU
Agree. While stupid and annoying they did no harm
Posted on 9/24/16 at 4:51 pm to LakeViewLSU
how much police overtime did they cost?
Posted on 9/24/16 at 4:51 pm to notiger1997
Not only did they do no harm, but a few old tourists probably enjoyed the parade and street performances.

They didn't have a chance since all the pros are busy in Charlotte.

It was about as useless and ineffective as Colin Keapernick kneeling during the national anthem.

I felt the protestors in BR stuff, were there to be part of something, than to be there and cause shite.
It felt more like SJW's, than the BLM and the White shite disturbers who hit Ferguson, Baltimore, and Minnesota. The East Coasters have their own shite heads who cause problems.

Seven people were arrested during a protest in Jackson Square Saturday.
According to NOPD, seven protesters were arrested by NOPD officers during the protest on Sept. 24. No injuries were reported and the protests ended peacefully.
Of the seven arrests, six were for disturbing the peace and the seventh was for aggravated assault. The unidentified man arrested for aggravated assault was allegedly carrying a box cutter.
"Our officers showed great restraint and I'm extremely proud of them," NOPD Chief Michael Harrison said. "All in all we allowed our citizens to exercise their first amendment right and I don't think you'll see that done any where in the world as well as you'll see it done here."
Despite threats to tear down the statue of Andrew Jackson in the French Quarter, no one attempted to cross police barricades and damage the monument.

I'm glad it didn't devolve into something ugly, but it's funny because the protest leaders made it sound like it was gonna be do or die trying.

Did you know that the reason that the monuments haven't been removed is because each company that accepts the contract keeps on getting death threats and quitting? At best, no one on either side looks good in that whole situation. But people in general tend to be huge hypocrites about these sorts of things and rationalize anything as long as it supports their predetermined position. This is the heart of what you are observing in your op.

This protest was about a different statue.
Posted on 9/24/16 at 5:48 pm to LakeViewLSU
Their all fricking idiots. I'm not going to praise one group for being less stupid.
Posted on 9/24/16 at 5:51 pm to USMCTiger03
There was no praise in the OP.

Tourists probably thought it was a second line or some shite
