Every single time I go to the new Wal-Mart on Burbank and Bluebonnet, there is a group of people asking me for money for some "cause." The cause is never defined well. I tried googling it and found nothing. Is this just the latest scam from people wandering over from the Gardier area?

I have never given them a dime and never will. I do not give money to complete strangers on the street for any reason whatsoever.

I was considering calling Wal-Mart management to see what can be done about the panhandling they seem to tacitly endorse.

Any one have any additional info on this?

Easy to avoid. Don't shop there. I don't.

I knew some condescending prick would make a comment like this, thinking he is somehow better because he has the privilege of paying higher prices somewhere else.

Was going to down vote you because you can't spell Gardere. I looked at your user name and up voted you instead.

Down vote this post if you like swallowing BBC

Why not just shop at Target instead?

Better stuff, lots of hot chicks in yoga pants shopping, and a Starbucks inside!

And I've never been hassled for money outside a Target.

I can't say I have ever actually looked at how its spelled before. I know the name well, however.

Walmart is trashy, and by shopping there, you are enabling the Waltons to make billions while paying the employees sub-standard wages.

Walmart is the evil empire.

I would be ecstatic if Walmart went out of business tomorrow (except I wouldn't want to see some of its shoppers at the stores I go to).

The closest Target is very far away - probably a 20 minute drive. The new Wal-Mart is at most a 5 minute drive. Ain't nobody got time to add 30 minutes to my trip.

That's horrible!! Your poor wife. I couldn't imagine ever living more than 10 minutes away from a Target.

I am incapable of caring any less about this than I already do. No one holds a gun to the employees' heads to force them to accept the job at those wages. They entered into an employment contract of their own free will. I wouldn't care if they were paid 1 penny an hour. It's called the free market.

Walmart is fricking terrible. It brings out the scum of the earth. Prices are good but the people are trash.

Also if Cenikor is out there trying to get donations throw them a few dollars. Good cause

Yeah I can't hate Walmart too much. They do provide lots of jobs to mentally challenged and physically disabled people. My sister has worked at Walmart for a few years now.

Soooooo are you a socialist or just against making money.

You are upset bc they saw a buisness opportunity and filled the niche and made money as a result. They pay their workers according to the federally mandated minimum wage (which is another argument). I don't see the evil.

My hatred of Walmart is well known, but you did just point out the one good thing that they do.

Brookshire's does that too, or at least used to do it a lot in this area.

That wasn't my point. I just refuse to shop there. There are many other options besides Walmart at almost the same prices or better. But, you seem like one to bitch about something instead of doing something about it. So, by all means, keep bitching.

I'm upset because the taxpayers subsidize the shitty wages that Walmart pays. I'm upset because Walmart is largely responsible for the invasion of Chinese imports that we have had and the build up of the Chinese economy. They put decent local stores, ones with good service, out of business because we are largely too f'in stupid to pay a little extra for better service (e.g. as those who shop at Target do).

That isn't wal-marts fault, that is a federal government issue. If you run a buisness you take every possible advantage you can to make the bottom line as big as you can.

Now I am totally with you about the federal government should not be subsidizing billion dollar companies but in my opinion wal mart is a well oiled machine in our capitolist economy.
