Taking a quick trip with the old lady. Any recommendations where to eat/hangout?

The Boardwalk. Restaurants and bars all right there.

That boardwalk area is cool for both. Hemingways is nice. Pegleg Pete's and Flounders is cool/fun. Crabs is pretty cool. Back on the mainland, McGuire's is a must. Fort Pike is a cool hangout. The best seafood market on the planet earth is Joe Patti's if you're cooking.

Avoid Landry's

Horrible service and wasn't that impressed when I went.

Sidelines is a pretty good bar food place.

^This. Also, you may be able to catch a Blues practice while there. I used to do that quite a bit while we were TAD there.

Plus, you will see some interesting .mil jets flying in and out of Eglin.

Last time there I saw two B-1's coming in for a landing.

Loud as hell.

ETA: Sound of freedom and screw Hadji.

Truth. My golf game would usually suffer whenever I played on base. Even at this age, I still love military jets.
