I wouldn't do the lean. I would just go back to Classic. Or, just go to Body Beast.

There are other things you can do, too. Buy a speed rope (jump rope) or get an ab wheel. Both are cheap and can give you good variation in your routine.

Got my pull up assist band yesterday in time to start week 6, so did eccentric upper with just pull ups... shite man.

YEP!! Seriously, I just did my first full EU routine with just the assist band and I can tell a huge difference in the days after on how my muscles are reacting to the change. Getting a much better workout in now that I'm not being a giant puss

I'm 6'2 so I have a bit of the same problem with the door frame pull-ups...I either stick my legs out a little bit in front of me on the way down or end up pulling my legs up in a cannon-ball type formation which has worked out pretty well too. I do think that way provides a little less resistance though as you get closer to the top. My loop isn't big enough to hook on my knee to bend my legs behind me so that isn't an option.

brings up a good question, how rigidly do yall follow the diet?

my first routine a few months ago I started out following the diet and it wanted me to eat 2700 calories per day!! I couldn't afford to eat that much and honestly it was just too damn much work trying to eat that much and I stopped following it after about 2 weeks. I gained weight during that period and ended up gaining about 5 pounds over the 90 days.

This go 'round I've been doing a low carb, moderate protein, high fat diet. I probably eat about 2k calories per day (sometimes a little less). 5 weeks in, I'm down nearly 15 pounds and my day 1 vs day 30ish pictures are pretty nuts.

Yeah I was putting my legs out but then seemed to lose the benefit of the assist band so then I was tucking them back but the piece of the band started rubbing up against my shin.

I dont follow "the" diet, just concentrate on eating healthier , chicken, spinach etc.

Eccentric Lower this morning.

That stretch of Triometrics + Yoga + Eccentric Lower is just a leg destroyer. I kept falling over during Albanian Squats and while trying to do the little cross-over one legged punch things. Then again just trying to stretch at the end...legs were just dead and didn't want to work individually anymore. Week 2 of Block 2 is almost complete and it seems like this block is flying by. Looking forward to the end of it when I can take some 60 day pictures.

Sabi,

I think your latter suggestion would fit me better. I'm much older than you and I don't think the Body Beast program would be in my best interest. My priority now is to eat cleaner and lose weight.

Eccentric Lower this morning.

same here.

Also I've started to deviate from the plan a bit, which I kinda feel bad about but I mean in the grand scheme of things it's not that big a deal ha.

This week is going to go eccentric upper, treadmill/ab ripper, eccentric lower, pilates or yoga, incinerator, and mmx or treadmill on saturday.

I gotcha. A speed rope is pretty badass. You'd be amazed at how quick you can get your footwork to improve in such a short period of time. It's also a really good way to wake up in the morning before a workout.

Ab wheels, if done properly, can really improve your shoulders, abs, and back.

If you have a pullup bar and if you have trouble holding up your body weight for ab exercises on it, get ab straps. They are great at helping you isolate areas in your core.

All 3 items are easy to use and are cheap at Walmart.

Once you get used to the combos in MMX you can really bust some arse. I don't think there's any chance I could get a better workout on a treadmill than doing MMX. Then again, I have some good invisible people to kick the shite out of while I'm doing it

MMX is a great workout if you give it 100%.

Effin 'a. Sweat was pouring off me the last time I did this workout. If you can move your feet and hips while throwing punches, the cardio work is intense.

I thought Trio and Ecc Lower was tough. Body Beast legs is a whole other level. I could only do half of it because my legs were shaking so bad I was losing my balance and falling over with the one legged raised lunge (Bulgarian?)

Went back and did all the calf stuff, whew I'm feeling it.

pilates this morning just to switch things up. Nice core workout. I honestly think this is the best my body has ever looked before. Maybe not my all time strongest since I really only have bands (3 years ago when I worked out a bit I was using real weights and bars and whatnot), but I'm pleased nonetheless.

Gonna finish out the week strong with incinerator tomorrow.

How many Body Beast discs are there? Is there a basic and premium/ultimate package like in P90X?

Not sure how many discs, I downloaded it. They have build phase videos of chest/tri, legs, back/bi and then shoulders. Then same body groups but different videos in the bulk phase. I do think there is a premium which has a few different workouts called "tempo" I think it's just eccentric or slow count exercises. I finished back and biceps about an hour ago. I really enjoy BB so far.

Though it may be bc I really hate anything related to cardio. The only cardio I could ever bring myself to do is tennis and soccer. Occasionally I'll jog, but I hated T25 and some of the more cardio focused x3. Maybe it's because my stamina is so low maybe it's just not my thing. I have too much fat and no muscle so doing beast now then forcing myself to trim fat latter isn't a bad option.

ETA: I'm using stability ball and Dumbbells only. It's a good cheap option. The bench and ez curl make things a bit easier but aren't necessary.

did incinerator this morning, great finish to the week. that burnout is ridiculous though, I still can't come remotely close to doing the whole thing. I usually have to take several, 10-13 second pauses over the 2+ minutes. Anyway feeling pretty good this Friday. I went way above some of the numbers for last week which feels great now, but at the same time it kinda sucks because now I feel like I have to match all those next week ha.

I did incinerator last night. I think I made it to the point where you do 5 push-ups followed shortly by hold @ the bottom of a push-up. I was pretty much done at that point. I attempted, and basically fell over, the final arm/leg lift but I made it further than I ever have in the past on it. Felt great, it's far and away the most difficult burnout phase there is.

Incinerator is tough. BB has me sore all over even more so than when I started x3; but damn it feels good. I know soreness doesn't not necessarily mean more muscle growth but it does make me feel like I'm working hard.

I didn't do any exercise this weekend unfortuantely. My diet was better than it has been on weekends, but my "bad stuff intake" was pretty bad.

This is supposed to be one of the recovery weeks and then I'm going on vacation this weekend so I'm gonna take it relatively easy this week. I felt like garbage this morning so I'm taking today off. I'll probably do Ecc Upper and Incinerator on Tuesday/Thursday and some cardio on Wednesday/Friday.
