I feel like it's pretty good. It has 3 bands in (15 pounds of resistance each). My issue is that I'm still trying to build up from having pretty much no strength at all. Before I really started this journey I could barely hang on a pull-up bar and couldn't even budge myself when I attempted to do one.

Last time I maxed out on pull-ups with the assist I was about to do 7 I think and still can only do 1 un-assisted pull-up. But 7 is a max at one time, no chance in hell I could do that many for 8 sets in a 30 minute time period.

may start trying to implement like 4 or 5 pull-ups with the assist and when I get to failure I'll swap back to the bands to finish out.

That's what I do. I don't have an asset band though, just use a chair behind me and push/pull my way to the top when I get burnt out. I finish that set then go to the bands the next go round.

I tried to use the chair a couple of times but it just felt like I was doing too much with my legs. The assist is fantastic. I was thinking about once I got to where I could do 10 assisted that I'd pull one of the resistance bands out so that it only gave 30 lbs instead of 45 lbs and working my way back up to 10 like that.

If you put the chair behind you and have your leg bent like a quad stretch it acts more of an assist rather than in front of you and seemingly stepping up.

All that said, I'll probably get me an assist band at some point. Probably finish this cycle then get one.

Did a new personal best on the pullup bar the other day. 35 pullups.

I know this is the OT, but damn.

35 pull ups in one set with no assist is very, very impressive. I think I can crank out 10 unassisted and that's it.

I think I may need to go from 3 to 2. Do you take the middle one out?

Thanks, guys. I need to gain some serious mass, though. I'm still hovering at 167 pounds no matter how much I eat. :/

Pullups just are easier for me. I wish my chest were as muscular as my back, tbh.

Yep, remove the middle one and then later put it back and remove the 2 outside for even less.

did pilates for the first time this morning. Really good core workout, I was feeling it in the midsection just a few minutes in.

I'll do CVX tomorrow, may or may not do a yoga this weekend, then begin block 2 monday!

I drank my dinner last night and didn't get to bed until almost 11:30 so I decided to be lazy this morning and skip CVX. Will take care of it when I get home tonight.

I probably have the same one. Are you sure it's designed to have the bands removed from it? I don't think it'll be an issue, but I adjust the assist by varying the loop location (overall length). Basically when I step it in it and hang from the bar, it's stretched a lot less. I like it because it's variable resistance as well. Which makes elevator pull-ups hell at the top.

Link to their manual

Here's the one I use, the manual says to start with 3 and then remove the center. 3 = 50lb and 2 = 32 pounds. It doesn't say anything after a brief glance about a single band but I can't imagine it would be any different.

Adjusting the loop height is a good idea too, never thought of that as I've always kept mine at the max "knee" height that it recommended.

I tried yoga last night and just couldn't get through it. I got cleated in indoor soccer the other night (yeah, some douche wore cleats), and I suffered a pretty bad blow to my right quad. It pisses me off because I hate missing days, but my right quad is destroyed and my right foot is black and blue.

I'll try to get back on the horse today, though.

that takes a special kind of retard in indoor. Make sure you keep that thing nice and clean...I ended up with a staff infection from getting a cleat to the foot mixed with infield dirt playing softball some years ago. Not that it needs to be said, but I'll say it anyway...don't try and rush back too fast, no matter how much you hate missing shite. No need to make anything worse.
