Shakeology only has like 120 calories or something like that doesn't it? I'd just be drinking it in addition to lunch or something. Screw a meal replacement with that few calories.

CVX kicked the shite out of me this morning.

That's correct doldil. I use it after my runs or my T25 workouts. Just trying it for a month to see how it works.

I did lower focus yesterday and then ran 5 miles this am. Going to do T25 Speed or Cardio this afternoon.

I'd be interested to hear how your results are with it after a month. It's something I've kind of wanted to try, but I'm also in pay off student loan debt mode at the moment, so dropping 100+ a month on a supplement is kind of outrageous to me at the moment, so I haven't.

I did CVX this morning as well. I mainly have resistance bands, so in the form of a weight all I have is a 10 pound plate. It's kinda cumbersome doing some of the exercises with it, and it's definitely too heavy for some too.

I feel like my shoulders get a hell of a workout though.

I used a medicine ball for cvx and it worked well. I didn't get home till ten last night but still did P90x shoulders and arms. I was very proud of myself. I skipped warmup and cool down to cut time.

Within ten minutes yesterday one person told me I have really slimmed down and another told me I looked like I've been packing on some muscle. It felt great that people have noticed I've cut fat and added muscle. I think with the x/25 hybrid I'm recently started doing the results will keep coming, perhaps even faster than x3

10 pounds would probably kill me. I was dead and my shoulders still feel pretty wrecked (although I'm sure part of that is from the Challenge yesterday too) and I'm only using a 5lb weight.

nice job man, keep up the good work. Random compliments from people like that are awesome...especially sometimes when you can't see the full change you're going through yourself.

Do you stick the exact workout plan? I switched it up a bit since I'm so used to resistance on M/W/F from doing p90x. I basically removed the yoga during the week (will do it on Sat or Sun if I have time) so I do

M-total syn
T-treadmill or run...I did agility X the first week but I live in an apt and I'm not on the bottom floor, so I'm leery of all the jumping around in that one. I try to be a good neighbor

Has anyone on here done both the original P90X and X3? For building muscle, which program is better for that?

Of those two, P90X. X3 is much more cardio focus IMO and incorporates a lot more core work. I think X3 will improve your strength, but it won't build as much mass.

yeah, I follow the classic schedule pretty religiously. I need structure otherwise I'm likely to forget what I'm supposed to be doing I find that Yoga is a nice way to mix it up in the middle of the week. It's relaxing and just really helps loosen me up and gives my body a little "rest" from the craziness of the other workouts.

I completely understand the issues with the apartment and I'd probably be hesitant to do that myself. When you've had monsters walking above you keeping you awake, it's easy to be a decent neighbor

I stuck with the plan. It was designed that way, and it seems to work.

Are you only doing it 5 days/week? What are you doing sat/sun?

I personally think yoga is pretty important. It's a semi-rest day and incorporates a lot of muscle groups you don't normally use. For X3, this is Yoga/Pilates/Isometrix. All are pretty incredible workouts IMO, yoga is actually a little too short, but Pilates and Isometrix are great.

Block 2 and 3 are the key to X3.

ETA: I did P90X in my old apartment, 3rd floor. Jumped around like crazy (Hello Plyo). As long as it's not too late, shouldn't be a problem. Dropping weights is a lot worse than somebody jumping around.

I definitely do some sort of exercise Mon-Fri, doing the routine I said above. 3 resistance days, CVX on thursday, and treadmill or a light run on Tuesday.

Weekends I don't make it a necessity to force myself to exercise, but I've been good the last few. I'll either do the X3 yoga disc or hit the treadmill. I usually take 1 day on the weekend off just to take a break.

I'm only in week 2 of X3 so I haven't gotten to the pilates or mmx discs yet.

Mmx is a lot of fun if the sprawls don't kill you

When I did p90x I used to always skip the yoga and just go for a run, but I really enjoy the x3 yoga. It sounds weird but I find it refreshing and I need alot of flexibility help

And thanks lsu77 and swamprat for the rack suggestions, I know that's late but Im just catching up.

I've been out of focus this week. No workouts due to no power/ my garage is the generator room.

MMX is my favorite of all the cardio based workouts, by far.

I'll be honest...my last run through I didn't do very well on the transition weeks. I never once did a pilates workout because I hated it so much the first time I tried x3 almost a year ago. the forced breathing annoys me to no end. This time though going to try much harder to make sure I do it.

You were not alone. Yoga X was ridiculously long. It was a great routine, an actual workout to do. But 1.5 hours is too much for the program. I often would skip around and cut it down to about an hour.

X3 Yoga is good, but a little too short. A 45 min routine would be great IMO. You don't really have to push yourself in X3 Yoga like you did in X, or even in Isometrix.

X2 Yoga is 66 minutes, I think. It's pretty perfect.

Kenpo > MMX

I hate the freakin sprawls. Wish they'd put Warrior in Block 3 over some of the MMX. And Pilates is weird, I get sore in the oddest of places.

As an update on my progress. Almost done with the program, last few weeks been tough. Basically been on just the classic program. Diet has suffered as well. Overall, I'm down 18 lbs and have firmed up a lot of muscle. Haven't built a ton of mass, but happy with the results. Want to drop another 5-10 lbs., hopefully around waist line (come on 6-pack). Am in no way concerned about removing my shirt or anything anymore, and feel awesome.

Believe it or not, but the sprawls are kinda a break for me bc I get to engage different muscles
