One question I always ask of my students when I'm teaching the Oncology module is - if I discover the cure for your particular cancer...does that entitle you to the use of my drug?
Great question. The altruistic side of most of us that get into medicine would say 'yes,' but then, a much smaller subset of us, look to see where the cost to cover the drug comes from.

? Production and research of medicine is unsustainable without someone paying for it. Hell, vaccines would (nearly) cease to be made if they weren't so heavily subsidized.
ETA: Or even better than where the cost coverage comes from, what makes person entitled to buy a certain product from a private seller?
