Other races and the 'N-word'

Obviously it's acceptable to drop an n-bomb in black on black conversations.
Obviously it's the kiss of death for a white to use the n-bomb.
What about other races? Was sitting in front of some Mexicans at the Astros game the other night and they were talking 'urban' and referring to each other as 'n***a' this and that. I've heard more thuggish type Asians do this as well.
If a black guy heard this, how would they be triggered? OTs thoughts?
