I got a work email today about reduced rates to this orangetheory place in BR. Doing a simple google search and reading makes it seem like some kind of HIIT training. So does anyone have any first hand experience with this place?

The future of fitness is here. Backed by the science of post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC), our heart-rate monitored training is designed to keep heart rates in a target zone that spikes metabolism and increases energy. The result is the Orange Effect – more energy, visible toning and extra fat and calorie burn for up to 36 hours after your workout!

My wife does orange theory. It is interval training with treadmill, rowing and free weights for 1 hr. Goal is to keep heart rate at a certain level for calorie burning. My wife loves it. She pays for 10 sessions per month

So... it's a gym? Or is it the waist band thing they were wearing?

Its a gym that has tv screen that track everybodies heart rate.

Its a group class with a trainer.

You are supposed to keep your heart rate in the orange zone. You can access an app with all your workout stats etc.

I know a few people who do it. It's really good for people who need a structured workout to keep motivation.

It's what happens when everything else workout-related has already been taken, but you want to put your personal spin on something so you can make money off of it.
