Not only do these bad boys help with your clean, they absolutely destroy your quads way more than back squat. And let's be honest we want to build them quads.
Also, Holding a barbell in a front rack position is a true testament is strength.

Only if you have boulder shoulders and hold it arms crossed like a man! Power Clean grip is for women.

I've just started trying to incorporate front squats into my routine. I'm absolutely horrible at them.

Doing heavy DB split squats (back foot elevated on a bench) with a 1-second hold at the bottom is still the one thing that makes me feel like my quads have been pulverized the following day.

Back squat, lunges, front squats, split squats, power cleans, deadlift, calves. That's a solid leg day

Started doing there about two months ago, they destroy my lower body, love them.

You're either overtraining or wasting time.
Either way that waaaaay too much work for one day.

Front squat works more quad. Back squat works more hams and glutes. Both are good for the #gainz

Are you doing one set of each? That's a lot of volume. Your lower back would hate you.

What about overhead squat?
Posted on 10/18/16 at 12:43 pm to YeahYeah
Why would you overload your spine like that?

Great lift, but I'd be surprised if more than 5% of your average gym has the mobility and core strength to safely execute this.

Sure, there's a place for the front squat in everyone's program.
But most people have underdeveloped posterior chains and would benefit from focusing LESS on their quads.
It would work fine as long as they were also RDL'ing their asses off.

On a difficulty scale on how to perform a lift, I would say this is a step down from snatch. Hard as frick to perform
