Ridgelines are nice trucks (based on a unibody platform).

The V6 has plenty of power for the weight and size but you will be limited on towing capacity and payload.

In exchange you will get car like ride and much better fuel economy than a full size pickup.

It's a handy vehicle for the right person who doesn't quite need a full size truck but needs some of that utility from time to time.

Another upside is the V6 in the Ridgeline is not equipped with the problematic VCM technology featured in other Honda models with that same engine (Accord, Ody, Pilot).

It can be purchased in RWD or "Auto 4WD" (using Hondas VTM-4 system).

Just browsed the wiki page song all it said was 4wd in the top section. Thanks.

I always assumed they were Awd.

Ridgelines are front wheel drive bias (not rear wheel drive) with all wheel drive standard. The engine is transverse mounted like in the Odyssey and Accord. Front wheels slip then the rear wheels engage.

With traction control it's not a bad system for snow and ice, but it's not as ideal for off roading like the system in the Tacoma, Colorado, Silverado, etc.

For some people, it's a decent choice. I just don't understand why it has such low fuel economy relative to full sized and even newer mid sized traditional body on frame trucks. I think a new Ridgeline is coming out soon.

you change the timing belt/water pump ? My 2006 is still under 100k... thinking I might change the belts soon...

Bought mine new in '06 (now at 200k). I've owned ford (diesel)and chevy trucks and a 4WD Jeep and this is by far the best truck I've owned. Very comfortable and I've had it off road all over the USA. 19+mpg. The AWD is awesome. I pulled a ford out that was stuck in mud (Ha). I'll buy the next model if it's made.

Towing is limited to 5k #.

I stand corrected. I thought they had a rwd only in the lower trims but it appears the vtm4 is across all models.
