What an ironic street sign in the first picture. Those are pretty surreal.

The damage seems to be on Debit. If Profit stayed dry it would be well named.

No. Damn near every house in old Jefferson got multiple feet of water. I mucked out several. It was awful.

We lived in a house off of debit in the late 80's. It flooded then too.

Pics is going to be horrible - no matter where. My neighbor is an Insurance Actuary and his co reps the big insurers in Louisiana/Mississippi - he said the initial assessment from Fla blvd down to Bayou Manchac east of Airline hwy was close to 1 Billion and could be a lot more - and that is just residential. So sad.

When my grandparents' house flooded in the seventies, no gutting, they just let it dry out. Didn't even pull the carpet, just ran the shop vac over it. Smelled like mildew for a while, but NBD. Nobody knew WTF mold was, and apparently it didn't hurt anybody.

Knowing how to filter doesn't equal being a photographer

good thread.

The devastation is real, and is such high volume that it'd very difficult to understand.

Pictures may help some to realize the challenge, and appreciate those going through it.
