OT parents, the irony of disciplining your kids for the same things you did

12 year old son left his phone on the table after breakfast, and my wife decided to take a peak at his web browser. Sure enough, about 10 pages of open Google Search image returns for everything from “shaved arse” to “teen pussy”. Naturally my wife is horrified and wants me to talk to him after school.
Of course for me at this age, it was same old nasty Penthouse one of the guys stole from his older brother.

There's no irony here. Just because you did something doesn't mean it was a good decision. The idea of discipline is to promote good decision-making.
Don't go too hard on him though or he'll come to resent you and start trying to blow his male classmates to get back at you.
