Seriously answer - I do not GAF whether someone is from my alma mater. Not that we get many up here to start with.

Clearly you've never managed women. Should be more like:

Gump = Don't hire.
Women = Double Don't Hire.
Gump Woman = Triple Don't Hire.

Makes sense because you're an Aggie fan. Hire only Aggies so you guys can circle jerk over your grad rings and university endowment.

Actually this new job is the first one I've ever worked with women (other than one in a quasi-family company where she knew me from childhood). In my 18 years of working, I haven't worked with a woman except for that one.

It is very distracting

Definitely depends on the job. For an admin job who really cares? If it is an engineering type job I'd probably hire an Auburn grad over an Alabama grad.

I was told by a potential employer "You realize you're an Alabama grad applying for a job in Baton Rouge, right? It seemed light hearted (I didn't get the job though so...).

If you're a manager and you're making hiring decisions based on worries of some admin girl saying "roll tide" you're a snowflake.
