I have 5 recessed lights in my living room, 3 are on one side by the tv and the other two are behind the couches. Those 5 lights can be controlled by 3 different light switches in my living room.

Is it possible to make the 3 lights by the TV work on a single switch (possibly a dimmer switch) and the back two lights work on the other two switches?

Is this a job for a professional or could I do it? TIA

Would have to rewire the circuit. You mechanically inclined?

Definitely possible.
How easy depends on how the original electrician ran the circuits from fixture to fixture.

Can you look at these diagrams and make sense of them?
If so, you may have a shot.

Well you'll have to rewire the circuit in the attic then use the wire that feeds the switches. You'll Have to abandon one wire in place because you won't need the extra wire to control the single switch.

Honestly, I couldn't do it without researching it. But if you have mechanical inclination and take your time, you can handle it.

Thinking about it, it's going to be mostly about connections. You shouldn't have to pull any new wires. Maybe change some jumpers in the attic but just one or two to make the circuits you want. Everything in your walls would be good.
